Instructions
for joining the Yahoo email discussion group:
- IMPORTANT: You need to have a Yahoo account to
subscribe. If you don’t have one,
go to www.yahoo.com and sign up; they
are free. After you join the
group, you can have emails sent to any email address you want, as long as
you list that account in your profile.
- From
the email address that you plan on using, send an email to SHMCareerSupport-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. You should get an automated email
response. Follow the instructions
given. NB – you may have to register
more than once to get things started, and when asked to list an “alternate
email address”, use the primary one as another one seems to confuse the
system. It might not recognize the
group name yet, but continue anyway.
To
Complete The Joining Process
- Submit
your contact information to Bob Raikes to enter in data base.
- Complete
Bob Raikes’ assessment package and schedule a meeting to discuss it with
him.
- Complete
behavioral and Values assessments (useful in the interviewing and job
search process). Log on to www.ttisurvey.com and type in the
following case-sensitive code:VE5449BG.
Each survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. Once you have completed them, the
reports will be sent immediately to Fiona Cattermole, CPBA. She will contact you to schedule a
debriefing appointment and to email you your reports.
- Complete
your informational bio (this will be emailed to you) and send this and
your resume to Jerry Mariani (through the yahoo group or using his email address
above), along with the categories under which you would like your resume
listed, and the title you want listed.
- If
desired, you may give your individual email address and contact
information so that bio and job search requirements can be available to
all group members. This can be
emailed to: paulcattermole@finexex.com.
Some
Membership Requirements:
- Once
you are a member of the group, you are expected to participate in the
following suggested ways:
- Share
job leads as they become available to you
- Share
names of people you know who may be good network contacts
- Give
freely of information and experience in whatever ways would be helpful to
group members
- As
you “graduate” from the group and become employed, return to the monthly
“alumni” group meetings to share information that might be helpful. These meetings are held the first
Tuesday of the month at 7:00-9:00pm)
- Find other ways to “pay it forward”
