WHAT IS YOUR JOB SEARCH PLAN?

 

We all say that we are looking for a job and have a plan.  What is your

plan? Would you please identify for yourself and the group the contents of

the plan you are using or are in the process of developing?  Below are

some tips that you might use in reviewing or developing an employment plan.

 

1.  Search the Internet daily for job leads

2.  Read the area newspapers daily to find leads you can follow up on

3.  Report daily or several times a week to a Colorado Workforce Office for

     leads

4.  Make cold calls to companies that you would like to work for

5.  Work your network by contacting key persons who may know of job

     openings in your field of work - update and maintain your network

6.  Contact private employment agencies

7.  Attend job fairs

8.  Update your resume weekly on web sites

9.  Make follow up calls to find out the status of jobs you have applied for

10.  Do informational interviewing once or twice a week

11.  Send updated resumes to key persons who can help you who are in

       your network

12.  Meet with other persons in your field who are looking for work to

       exchange ideas and support.
