TOUCHING SOME BASES

As you continue your job search I have some thoughts to
share with you.
1. How are you attempting to get job leads? Have you been trying the same old things and have you tried any of the following:
*Connecting with former
co-workers
*Cold calling
*Targeted 5 or 6 companies
that use your skills
*Contacting your last
employer to see if anything has changed
*Checking our alumni list
for firms that have your skills and alums working there
*Contacted a headunter
*Checked with a temp
agency to see what is available
*Visited the Colorado
Workforce Center for job leads
*Continued to check
classified ads in the newspaper
*Kept in contact with
friends and relatives
2. Updated your 30 second
elevator speeches?
3. Given an update on your
job search and updated resumes to the 8-10 people most likely to get you a job
lead?
4. When is the last time
you changed your resume with new buzz words on any webs where your resume is
posted? (you might do this weekly)
5. What techniques are you
using to maintain a positive attitude? Do you:
*Hang out with positive people
*Exercise
*Take drives to the mountains
*Watch funny videos and movies
*Do nice things for others that make you feel good
*Read the comics in the newspaper
*Talked to God. I have had some positive feedback from people who do. Prayer is a powerful tool.
