A WEEKLY JOB SEARCH PLAN
SUNDAY - Be kind to yourself.
Relax, do things you enjoy be it going to a movie, taking
a walk, be with a friend. LET IT
BE A DAY OF REST.
MONDAY MORNING Mornings are not a good time for phone calls to
employers or hiring managers as they are usually in meetings or catching up
on e-mails or phone calls of their own. THIS IS A GOOD TIME TO VISIT A COFFEE
SHOP EARLY FOR NETWORKING PURPOSES.
PLAN YOUR WEEK BY DETERMINING:
a. Job leads you plan to send
applications.
b. Follow up phone calls you
plan to make.
c. Access websites you are
using.
d. Identify persons you plan to
network with this week.
e. Read classified ads for leads
in local papers.
f. Visit the Job Service Center
in your area.
g. Call any headhunters you have
been using.
h. Contact a member of your
super network by e-mail or phone.
i. Change your resumes posted on
important web sites.
j. Call a targeted firm for an
informational interview.
k. Consider lunch close to a targeted
company to meet employees of the firm.
l. Write any follow-up thank you
letters or leave thank you voice mails.
MONDAY Afternoon –
Make follow up phone calls.
Check important websites.
Phone or e-mail more contacts in
your super network.
Ready applications and resumes
for mailing or e-mailing.
Send thank you e-mails·to new
contacts from lunch.
Get some exercise.
TUESDAY - Start the morning at a
coffee shop (early) with a few resumes in hand.
Read te morning papers for new
ads. ALSO check for any Plan B jobs.
Phone hiring managers,
headhunters or others to maintain contacts.
Review your weekly plan and make
modifications.
Visit websites for new postings
including the Job Center website.
Make phone calls to unemployed
peers or friends looking for jobs.
Try to apply for at least one
job.
Review you networking list to
see if you missed contacting someone in your network.
Get some exercise.
WEDNESDAY
Visit coffee shop for networking
(early).
Make networking phone calls
and/or calls to unemployed peers.
Read classified ads.
for new leads and check for Plan
B job.
Review questions or approach you
will use for any interviews you have scheduded.
Check websites for new job
leads.
Review and adjust the rest of
your weekly schedule.
Call at least, one person in
your super network.
Try to apply for at least one
job.
THURSDAY
Start the morning in a coffee
shop to network and read classifieds.
Check for Plan B jobs and make follow up calls from the coffee shop.
Check websites you are using as
well as the Job Center site.
Call or e-mail someone on your
super network.
Check with headhunters you are
using.
Interview with any firms you
have scheduled
Have lunch near a firm you have
targeted for employment.
Network with an unemployed peer
on the phone or by e-mail
Exercise.
FRIDAY
Have your morning coffee in a
new coffee shop.
Read classified ads.
Make follow-up phone calls or
new ones with potential employers.
Review e-mails and visit job
websites and make any applications you can.
Follow-up with hiring managers
or members of your networking group.
Visit the Colorado Job Service
Center for leads.
Call persons on your super
network

SATURDAY
- Network in a coffee shop.
Have lunch with a working friend
whom you have not spoken with all week.
Read the classified ads for new
job leads as well as Plan B jobs.
Check e-mails and job web sites.
Determine if you can visit with
other friends today.
